System Enable or Disable Hidden Feature Flags in Windows 11

This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable hidden experimental feature flags in Windows 11.

ViVeTool is an open source tool that can be used to enable hidden features that are part of controlled feature roll-outs or A/B testing in Insider builds of Windows 11.

Starting with Windows 11 build 26220.8148 (Beta 25H2) and build 26300.8155 (Dev 25H2), Microsoft is developing a hidden Feature Flags page in Settings to make it easier to turn on or off hidden features. If you don't have this (Option One) available in these builds yet and would like to try it now, then you can use the vivetool /enable /id:60911173 command with Option Two to enable this.

You must be signed in as administrator to enable or disable hidden feature flags.

1 Open Settings (Win+I).

2 Click/tap on Windows Update on the left side, and click/tap on Windows Insider Program on the right side. (see screenshot below)

4 Select No Override, Disabled (default), or Enabled for any available feature flags you want, and click/tap on Apply Changes. (see screenshots below)

5 Click/tap on Restart now to apply. (see screenshot below)

This will immediately restart the computer. Be sure to save and close everything first.

1 Click/tap on ViVeTool-v0.3.4-SnapdragonArm64.zip (ARM64) or ViVeTool-v0.3.4-IntelAmd.zip (64-bit) at the link below to download the latest version of ViveTool for your device's system type. (see screenshot below)

2 Select the location (ex: "Desktop") where you want to save the ZIP file above to, and click/tap on Save. (see screenshot below)

Substitute <full path of ViVeTool.exe> in the command above by pasting (Ctrl+V) the full path of the ViveTool.exe file from step 5.

Substitute <feature ID> with the actual feature ID number (ex: "41040327") for the feature (ex: "Gallery in File Explorer") you want to enable or disable.

For example:
"C:\Users\Brink\Desktop\ViVeTool-v0.3.3\ViVeTool.exe" /enable /id:41040327


You can use Open with "Just once" the FeatureDictionary.pfs file from the extracted ZIP (step 4) with Notepad to see a list of available feature IDs.

8 If you used the "Removes all custom feature configurations" command, then type Y when prompted to confirm.

9 Restart the computer to apply.

It probably wouldn't hurt to run it again. I close out of everything when i run DISM apart from programs running in the background.

Yes. There are a number of DISM commands you can use if you wish. Evidently you've also just run SFC so you should be good to go after cleaning up your system image. Probably a good idea to make another backup and a restore point to get back to this place in case you need to. (Especially if you want to play around with tools that are still in development.) ;-)

And if I might add, don't throw around Vivetool codes willy nilly as you could have unexpected consequences with certain features ID's. Just enable features you really want or need and keep track of the codes you used.

I'm running both DISM and System File Check again. DISM ran quickly and System File Check didn't find any problems. Then I restarted the computer.

I thought about restoring the backup I created last week. But then OneDrive would be on my computer again. But, yes, I'll backup my computer again now.

Read the "fine print"? I'm not dissing the program and it's probably very good for advanced users. Myself, anything new I like to read up on and research first before using. Once again, it really boils down to user preference.

DISM and SFC pretty much cover most issues in this regard. Usually you're good to go with those.

Those are the main two for catching errors. Don't want to scare you on Vivetool as it's a great app to try out new experimental features that are available in insiders builds that aren't offered to everyone or are gradually being rolled out. Just use some discretion on what features you pick and choice to set and keep track incase you need to disable the feature later.

I just applied vivetool command to get new start menu, as MS hasn't deployed the feature on my PC yet.

When MS will deploy it, do I need to revert vivetool command ? Or should I leave it as is ?
