I updated to W11 about a month ago but this issue extends back to W10. I had hoped that it would be fixed when I moved to W11.

Anyway, I like to use the Logitech style mouse with the small USB dongle. I have been using them for years. However, the left click started to become erratic. It would often select items as I am passing over them or multi-click on items that I don't want. This drives me crazy when I'm in a HTML editor. I went into all of the mouse control areas and tried to see if it was something there. But couldn't find anything to fix it. So I thought it just might be the mouse.

First I went out and bought a new mouse. I bought a IHOME IH-M361B 6-button. It had a small USB dongle, similar to the Logitech mice. It seemed to work correctly, at first, but then degraded to the same erratic left click.

So I pulled my box of mice off the shelf (it seems I have quite a collection of mice) and started to do some swapping. First I tried several old USB connected mice. They all worked fine. No problems. Then I tried a couple of older Logitech mice (w/USB dongle) and they all gave the same erratic left click problem, except for one! That's the mouse I'm using now which is a old Logitech Invisible Optic Cordless Mouse & Logitech Receiver: C-BL4-MSE. It's kind of clumsy and the scroll wheel doesn't always scroll, but works good enough to not make me nuts..

I tried the other Logitech mice on another HP laptop and there doesn't seem to be any issues. Has anyone seen this issue before?

Which receiver? Each Logitech mouse had it's own USB dongle.
Yeah I saw that after a re-read, have you tried different ports

Yes, I tried swapping everything I could think of, including laptops. I am starting to think this is a hardware issue and I'm stuck with a mouse that just works.

Erratic mouse behavior.....I read someplace where they put the mouse dongle into an extended usb port (slightly away from the pc) and it fixed their problem.

That is the only thing I haven't tried yet. I just purchases a new Targus USB 3.0 4-Port hub. I just tested the hub out with some new USB to Serial Port converter cables that talks to one of my transceivers. Thanks for the idea.

There are settings for pointer speed, double click speed, and even a box for Enhanced pointer precision, but not duration. And it seem with each different mouse, these settings need to be adjusted.

Yes, it is my call sign. I have been licensed since 1965 and mostly operate CW. Good to hear you. I thought of asking this question on QRZ or Eham, but I think there is better help right here.

Thanks. Maybe I wasn't clear with my post. The only mice that are giving me problems are the wireless mice.

This computer is connected to my IC-735 radio.
Looks like a wired mouse for now then and I have no idea what the issue is! But others may know. I do know my stepson had one that used to have a not so good connection and the one above he has had no issues with.

This might help - it says update the mouse drivers. But maybe you've already done that. Also (and sorry if this seems a bit obvious) but try new batteries? We had one not working properly when the batteries were getting down. Again you've probably tried that already.

See if this makes any difference. Try opening an administrative command prompt and typing
SET DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1
In Device manager set view to show hidden devices. Uninstall all mice, keyboard, and human interface devices that are grayed out.
Restart
Then from admin cmd type DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=0

You stated you had the problem back in 10 as well. Since you upgraded as opposed to clean install there is a possibility your mouse drivers were corrupted in 10 and it carried over to 11.
