Event ID 566, The system session has transitioned from 197 to 199

This event ID pops up in the event log when my monitor wakes up. I don't know the exact cause of this and why the monitor wakes without sometimes when I'm doing anything. Is it possible to get more info about this? Checked the task scheduler and found nothing from there that can cause it.

Hi user1010

I would suggest you download and run "FullEventLogView". No Install needed.
Note the exact time your monitor powers up from sleep state. The utility will tell you more about the trigger in a list view.

If you click on the Details tab in the Event Viewer (shown in your screen capture) does that give you any additional information about what the issue is?

That is an informational event, not an error. There are thousands of informational events every day.

As @glasskuter states it isn't an error being reported by the Event Viewer. To find out what specifically is making the monitor wake up could take a lot of digging around to find why.

Like I said, look at the time when your monitor wakes up, run the utility. look at event time & event id. Double click description if needed. not difficult.

It's the same info I got there but I noticed that there is Process ID and Thread ID in FullEventLogView (which is not in the usual event viewer).

Ah ok. I just noticed it the same time and I have seen it before around the time when I got problem with the monitor.

Noticed that I got Google Chrome notification the same time that the monitor waked. Activated "do not disturb" under Notifications settings. See if it helps :)

You could try Process Monitor which is part of the Sysinternals Suite.

If you've never used/seen it before you will need to become familiar with it. It is advanced software.
It does in real time have custom filters that can be setup to track specific Process ID's and Thread ID's and much more.

I don't guarantee it will find the information you seek, but if anything is going to this is what I would be trying out.

The other Sysinternals tool that is definitely worth knowing about is Process Explorer which has some of the same features as Windows Task Manager except on steriods.

I see the PID in Process Monitor. Thread ID should be expanded from the process if there is any?

Thread ID = TID

Hit the shortcut Ctrl + L and the filter dialog box appears. Select PID or TID and add the correct number, hit enter then answer yes when the little dialog box appears.
Right click on any entry in the Process Monitor for a myriad of options. Properties is a good place to start. It shows ALL dll's being used by the process.

It seems that it's the Chrome/Windows notification that wakes my monitor. I turned off the notifications and the monitor hasn't wake since.
