Question: On my second system i built (specs in profile) i am now experiencing a lot of random audio stutter/jitter in Windows 11.
Video playback starts okay but over time more and more lag is added to the Audio Stream.

I followed the tips to turn off Hibernation and enable MSI for all capable devices. Rebooted the system everytime for a clean test. Same issue still prevails sadly.

Now in my case i'm using a Gigabyte motherboard with B660 chipset. Is there still an updated Realtek driver here that i can use?
(I have noticed that Gigabyte have not updated this Realtek Audio driver on their on website in ages either).

Thanks for any help. :)

hi NessPJ

regarding the sound jitter problems, try the following workaround from this MSI global forum post from MichelN86.
otherwise try looking for & using an older audio driver version before the 6.0.9601.1 version (like 6.0.9599.1).

note that these audio drivers from this thread are for ASUS brand motherboards only and are not compatible with other boards beside Asus. if you need newer audio drivers for your Gigabyte B660 board, check this thread from the Gigabyte UK forum.

Thanks a lot for the tips so far.
I tried the Power Saving settings tip, followed by a Reboot...sadly no difference (the device was there though, also listed as "HDAUDIO" or something).

I also tried:
Code:
version 6.0.9520.1 for certain Gigabyte server/workstation motherboards & PCs but may also work on most Gigabyte consumer desktop motherboards as well (released near end of October 2023)

Since this version said it could also work for motherboards and PC's.
Sadly Windows will not recognize the driver for the selected device when i search for it.
Should i 'force' install this driver?

I really don't get why Motherboard manufacturers seem so slow nowadays to release new driver versions for their products/chipsets on Windows 11 (Asus, MSI, Gigabyte). A lot of people across the internet are complaining about these type of Audio issues with Realtek chipsets.
(When i hook up a headphone with audio interface built into it, there are no issues).

I had stuttering audio last year on one of my PCs. I noticed it shortly after a Realtek driver update. I had to roll back the Realtek driver to the previous version to correct the issue. Then I downloaded that version separately to re-install, if necessary, in case it updated again. I haven't had the issue in a while so Realtek may have corrected the issue with my driver since.

Most likely Windows Update replaced your working audio driver with a newer but not quite compatible one. The solution is to reinstall the official driver or update to the latest official audio driver directly from manufacturer's support site. If this driver has earlier date than that of Windows Update you may have to hide (block) the unwanted update using Windows Update Show/Hide Tool or Windows Advanced Update (WAU) Manager. Install the official driver and then scan for updates with either utility and check to box to hide (block) the driver update before it gets installed.
