It's indeed from China. The real edition is called Windows Enterprise G and is for China Government. It comes in Chinese only, obviously

Such version on Windows was an obvious fake from news tittle alone.

I mean, let's face it - most governments are still using Windows 7 (seen that with my own eyes - multiple times). Apparently, most governments strongly dislike change - be it having a right, left, up or down political ideology.

Also, just an opinion - but i'm pretty sure Microsoft doesn't tailor any governmental releases. If anything - a government would chose an industrial LTS and maybe the admins will strip down - some of the features posing a risk or not desired in a official OS. Then again, there's also such thing as laziness and nepotism (incompetent employees - hired simply because they know some official with high enough status) - so probably most (if not all) - will just go with default LTS and just disable (turn off) some features on those private accounts.

It's a special edition made for the Chinese government by Microsoft and a company called CMGE

Who'd even think of using ANYTHING labelled "Govt" wherever you are. In any case a lot of Govt stuff often uses I.T hard and software that even the Dinosaurs would have considered obsolete.

Cheers
