Hey guys,

I want to disable permanently Microsoft Edge WebView2. Is there anyway of it ?

You know it is an integral part of net browsing for web content but here you go:
Command prompt:
C: Enter
cd\ (hit Enter)
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeWebView\Application (hit Enter).
Then type cd (don't enter) and hit the SPACE Button and then the TAB button and then Enter.
Then
cd Installer (hit Enter)
execute the command
setup.exe --uninstall --msedgewebview --system-level --verbose-logging --force-uninstall

hit Enter)

Is there anyway of it ?
No, you can uninstall it, but Edge upgrade will install it again, about once a month. You could try workarounds, like take ownership/permissions of it's folder and deny write permissions afterwards, but that could result in an unexpected behaviour.

Besides apps can use their own Microsoft Edge WebView2, separate from the default one.

You need it to enable your Widgets. No way around it. If you block it, your Widgets won't populate.

Noting like starting my computer, going downstairs to get some breakfast and hear shouting coming from my office. "SWITCH TO GEICO AND IT COULD SAVE YOU 20%). I mute all the sounds coming from it, but it will reset and blast me in the face with another ad after 30 min.

So if it stops some widgets from working, that is a fine tradeoff.

This never happened to me. Could it be some adware in your PC?
