Greetings,

I am new to asking any kind of help on custom PC's, I am not native English so forgive me for any grammer mistake.

So my problem is that about a month ago I got a new custom build PC. I haven't build it my self I let a proffesional do it (small time company but have assisted me and my family in PC things for about 20 years now and I trust them). However they have a extended vacation right now and im going crazy about file corruption and crashes in games.

My specs:
CPU: I9 13900kf (with Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition with LGA1700)
Motherboard: Gigabyte 790 UD
RAM: Kingston DDR5 6000 MHz 32G (2 cards)
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX
SSD Drive: Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB.
Cooler Master MWE 850 Gold V2 - PSU

I have been tinkering on this system for about 2 weeks, it started out semi stable and after some time it became more unstable.

The things I tried:
Reinstall windows (many times and delete every single file)
Update Bios to latest version
Adjust RAM Voltage slightly (1.250 max)
Reset CMOS (many times)
Downgrade from windows 11 to windows 10
Run SFC Scan and all other scans you can think of in CMD
Run Memtest86
Use Samsung Magician for diagnostics.
Adjust settings in bios without increasing or decreasing voltage (im not that smart when it comes to bios things so anything that overclocks I ignore)
Virus scans with multiple scanners and for 1 I even paid money (cant remember which one) (all scans, boot scans/virus scan)

Everytime I reinstall windows something goes wrong with updating windows and I either cant complete the install or I get a blue screen. And after a while of trying it installs everything but I cant help but feel like the updates are a 100% if I have to try 10 times.

It started with discord crashing at random and then certain games like Monster Hunter World would start crashing with all kinds of errors. Sometimes it'd be a RAM adress that went wrong, sometimes a javascript error and other times it would just crash without error. After that I had trouble reinstalling windows with windows restore and even got problems with installing certain things just giving me error file corrupted. I managed to reinstall windows with a USB Stick. I used my old pc to get new Bios and Windows to make sure nothing got corrupted.

I am basicly at my wit's end here, I'd take the PC back to the proffesionals if they were back, and I probably will. But I really just wan't to know what part of the PC is not working here. Maybe it's the CPU trying to draw to much power when everything is on auto, or maybe the SSD is faulty. I don't know because I am trying everything to find out what part is not working propperly.

Does anyone have any suggestions to what may cause this?

Thanks in advance.

First of all, welcome to the forum. Your English is just fine; better than mine most of the time. That is one heck of a system your have and I would say congrats if it was working correctly.
From what you have already done, the only thing I see missing in your list is a clean boot which eliminates software conflict as being the issue. You might try that. If it doesn't happen in a clean boot, you have some software conflicting with Windows. Brink's procedure will help you weed out which one. Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 11 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts Tutorial

I'm far from one of the hardware experts here but there no easy answer to what the cause is. Since you are getting blue screens this problem would be better handled by @zbook or one of the other folks who are experienced in analyzing logfiles. zbook will see this post now that I have flagged him. In the meantime, please follow these instructions to gather the necessary logfiles. BSOD - Posting Instructions
Zip the files and upload the zipped file to any cloud provider; onedrive, googledrive, etc. Post a shared link to the file in this thread.
Good luck.

Find out why you got a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) error and how to stop it.

Thank you, I will try the clean boot as soon as I downloaded/installed some of the crashing games. Got me some slow internet over here. And it may take some time before I can get another BSOD because it really only happens sometimes while updating windows or a driver.

I suspect faulty RAM or it is not seated properly. Can you power off and remove one of the RAM cards?

Test Windows and if no better change to the other RAM card.

One thing that can cause weird stability problems is a faulty power supply. To rule this out you would need to measure the current supply outputs - probably best to ask your installer to check it.

Dell says this system is not Windows 11 capable, but Microsoft seems happy with it.
Sorry for the delay, but I attempted to do a clean boot and I was not able to isolate any conflicting software. I can't find any BSOD logs because it probably happened during a different installation off windows (I reinstalled it many times) and havent had a blue screen yet. Right now im running with 1 RAM card and honestly everything seems stable. Usually when I'd activate hardware acceleration on discord it just shut down straight away and keeps crashing. It was also my first thought when the instabillity occured because when I first turned on the PC when I got it I also had to pee because of the excitment, but I could've sworn that in the bathroom I heard 3 beeps from the motherboard. I never heard those beeps after but I really think its a faulty RAM but I cant get any errors with Memtest86. Would anyone know how I could find errors in the RAM?

If Memtest86 didn't give you errors and you haven't overclocked your system, then probably the RAM is fine. Download Hard Disk Sentinel and check your disk's health. It should be 100% healthy. Anything less should be returned and replaced under Warranty. Also before running any games make sure you have manually downloaded the latest graphics drivers (Andrenalin Edition AMD software) from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/grap...d-radeon-rx-7900-series/amd-radeon-rx-7900xtx

BSOD could be because of faulty graphics drivers.

Blue Screen of Death (also known as a blue screen or BSoD) is an error screen displayed on a Windows computer system after a fatal system error, also known as a system crash: when the operating system reaches a condition where it can no longer operate safely. BSoDs can be caused by poorly written device drivers or malfunctioning hardware, such as faulty memory, power supply issues, overheating of components, or hardware running beyond its specification limits.

  • If new device drivers or system services have been added recently, try removing or updating them. Try to determine what changed in the system that caused the new bug check code to appear.
  • Look in Device Manager to see if any devices are marked with an exclamation point (!), which indicates a problem. Review the events log displayed in the properties for any faulting device driver. Try to update the related driver.
  • Check the System Log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help pinpoint the device or driver that is causing the error. Look for critical errors in the system log that occurred in the same time window as the blue screen.
  • If you recently added hardware to the system, try removing or replacing it. Or check with the manufacturer to see if any patches are available.
  • Install Windows updates.
  • If you are overclocking (pushing the components beyond their design) you should revert to default at least until the crashing is solved. If you don't know what it is you probably are not overclocking.
  • Use SpeedFan to monitor temperatures in computers, overheating can cause BSOD.
  • Use Memtest86+ disc to check system memory's (RAM's) for errors.
  • Use CrystalDiskInfo to check SMART health report of the hard disk drive (HDD).

Open the Command Prompt with administrative privileges and execute bellow commands one at a time.

Code:
Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Sfc /scannow

Chkdsk C: /f

Sorry for the long delay. It has been a bussy week trying to fix this system. It basicly comes down to that my appartment I live in has small power surges. I bought a surge protector and it basicly clicks 1 or 2 times the moment windows boots. Explaining why I couldnt update windows propperly. Now that I have this surge protector all weird instabillity things are gone. I just hope it didn't cause any damage to the hardware. Thanks all for your replies and suggestions. I shall mark this post as solved
