HI,

Been testing out how the new tabs feature works and wondered why selecting open in new tab didn't open a new tab but a new Window. I found that if you have this option selected "Open each folder in its own window"

Then tabs don't really work. I have always used this option as I prefer to have the apps in the old Control Panel to open in distinct size windows based on the content of the dialog. Now with tabs this is no longer possible. It would be ideal if this open was ignored in File Explorer if there are tabs.

I am not sure if this utility helps, but if you download and install Explorer Patcher it restores some Windows 10 functionality, such as right-click on the taskbar to see the familiar list with Task Manager, instead of Taskbar settings only. Try it.

Thanks, but this does not solve my Tabs issue, or the design flaws of how tabs works

I surely hope MS initiates this feature , it will probably be the only way they will get me to install 11 because I know they will never add the feature to Windows 10 even though they teased it a few years back.

I know there are third party Explorer tab programs out there , I have tested most if not all of them and not one of them fluently integrates into explorer.
