Any here running Windows XP VM's --for what it's worth firefox still working perfectly. You do get a message of "Unsupported OS but otherwise it just works OK even on modern websites with https. CPU use also absolutely just above "Negligible" even with only 2 virtual cpu's.

OE (Outlook express) still OK too -. I'm not paranoid with security -- I use the HOST for a gateway to the Internet so the XP doesn't directly connect with the Internet -- and I'm sure Putin isn't interested in hacking my bank account for a mere 300 roubles. !!!!!

It's quite fun running these older OS's as VM's - also I still have some expensive hardware which only works on XP. Not paying 20,000 USD or more to upgrade for a small part time business. (I create bespoke vinyls for people fro their music collections). Business this year almost too big to handle -- seems there's a lot of "revival" in Vinyl. The only format I hated were cassette tapes -- always getting jammed or tangled even high quality "Metal tapes" and Digital tape also was never going to be successful.

Cheers

You should try Waterfox on there. I believe you would be able to use the latest version: Waterfox, Free Web Browser since the required specs are up to par. I actually use it as my main browser on my PC for 3 reasons:
  • Extremely fast
  • Open source
  • Doesn't use the new firefox style (it's the previous, which I like)

Last version of Firefox to support Windows XP: 52.9.0esr
Last version of Firefox to support Windows XP which didn't require SSE2 support: 45.9.0esr

Firefox version 52.9.0esr was the last supported release for Windows XP and Windows Vista. No further security updates will be provided for those systems.
Firefox has ended support for Windows XP and Vista

My xp computer will not let me download Fire Fox that will work. It says I need SSE2 to allow it? Where and how can I accomplish this?

Since your CPU does not support SSE2, this means for Windows Firefox 48.0.2 Release and the much more current 45.9.0 ESR were the last as 49.0 and later on Windows required CPU's that supported SSE2.
