Solved FireFox v 101.0.1 x64: Always losing cookies

Windows 11 Pro 25H2 (Build 26200.8737)
I've just completed a clean install of Windows v 21H2 & re-installed all my apps including FireFox.

I've managed to configure FireFox ok EXCEPT that I'm always loosing cookies when I close & reopen Firefox sessions.

Can anyone help me with this?

I'm guessing, that one or two of those other items must deal with cookies as well. Or... you're running some 3rd party utility (like CCleaner, maybe), that is ALSO clearing cookies.

If no 3rd party utilities... uncheck ALL those boxes in Firefox, then over a day or two of surfing... re-enable them one by one till you find the culprit.

my browser's setup is almost identical to yours, i include Offline as well,,
Have to agree with Ghot, its likely a 3rd party prog

I do run CCleaner; however, I've disabled any activity regarding FireFox.

The you need to go to Options > Cookies ...and move those cookies you want to keep, from the left side to the right side.

It took me a while to figure it out, but... for a site like maybe your web mail, or a forum you go to a lot...

1. run CCleaner, which will delete all the cookies on the left side
2. The go to the site with the cookies you want to save
3. log in or whatever, then OPEN CCleaner but don't "run" it.
4. Go to Options > cookies ...and the only cookies on the left side will be the ones FOR that site you just went to.
5. So then you can just add ALL or at least the "needed" ones... to the right side.

Rinse and repeat for other sites whose cookies you want to save.



Over the years, I've found these to be the best settings...
You have to have cookies check marked, for the five steps above, to work.

All in all, I'd say I only save about 10% of the cookies, that my use of the web generates.
Mainly... forum logins, webmail, 2-3 online etailers... etc.
