Solved Flash Drive Confussion

Hi,

I purchased a Flash Drive, this one 32GB to store my Windows 11 installer: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07CVVHCTG but I'm having problems is the drive faulty?

If I put the drive in my back USB ports or in my external USB it works, but if I put it in my front ports it does not work (it does not show in File Explorer) yet if I put another USB drive (not the new one) in the front ports it works.

I'm so confussed does my Flash Drive not like my front ports or is my new Flash Drive faulty?

I have one 16GB Corsair USB stick... in the back ports it works fine. In the front ports, I have to push it in, then pull it back about 1mm for it to make proper connection.
In other words. move it in and out of the front connector a bit... see if that helps.

Check your front USB ports if it's not USB 3.1. (or USB 3.2 Gen 1x1 [USB Spec confusing me]) The USB flash drive says USB 3.1 on it's description. If it's USB 2.0 or 3.0, it will work (or not work) but on USB 2.0 or 3.0 speeds respectively.

My PC's front USB ports says USB 3.0 but the ports are black, hmm... so my all USB drives (all USB 2.0) work with it.

I'm not sure if this is the same issue I had previously, but some drives are made differently (SOC, versus wafer with components). My system wouldn't work with the SOC type, so I avoid the drives that have a lip at the bottom (holds the SOC in place). I'm not sure if my usb port is worn, but this was the only drive I had issues with. The contacts on the wafer type are raised, the SOC type has almost recessed contacts. My other USB sticks work fine with no problems even if I push it all the way in, this stick would have to be arkward.
