folders with jpegs - some generate thumbnails, some don't

I have some folders with pictures I've taken, and sometimes thumbnails are automatically generated, and sometimes they're not, sometimes it makes them on some and not others.

Why? I want it to always generate thumbnails. Is there a way to 'refresh' thumbnails? Maybe that would do the trick.

hmm, I can do that, but why is it happening at all? Most of the folders are only 10-20 files, but one folder has 35,000 files. I'd like to avoid losing all thumbnails, computer-wide, I only want to refresh the individual folders in question. I was hoping it would be something simple, like refresh.

It's all or nothing, if the store is corrupted it can affect some or all images. It doesn’t take long to refresh the thumbnails after the repair.
