Wow! Something for ME! I am so grateful!! Does anyone know who I can thank? I know that these can be turned off for awhile. But I'd really like to just be done with them. Period! Forever! I don't get too many pop ups, so I don't want to turn off any pop ups except for these. Thanks

Bob

To turn off the "For you" pop-ups or suggestions in Google Chrome, especially on the New Tab Page, follow the method that matches what you're seeing:

If you're seeing "For You" news suggestions on new tab, these come from the Discover feed or Articles for You. Here's how to disable them:

🖥 On Desktop Chrome:
  1. Open a new tab in Chrome.
  2. If you see cards or a section labeled "For You", click the 3-dot menu on the card or nearby.
  3. Look for an option like:
    • Turn off "For You"
    • Hide this content
    • Or: Customize Chrome > Cards or Articles → Turn off relevant sections.
Note: As of mid-2025, some experimental content suggestions may be tied to Chrome features or Experiments:

  • Go to chrome://flags
  • Search for "NTP Modules" or "For You"
  • If found, set to Disabled
  • Relaunch Chrome
Optional (Signed-in Google content):

I tried going to My Activity but did not see anything there that looked like ti might relate to the "For You" pop-ups.

Thanks, Bob

Hi, Bob, try this:

Open a new tab in Chrome

At the bottom right of the new tab, look for this:

Win-1773.webp

Scroll down to the bottom of the options that open, toggle off Show Cards:

Win-1774.webp

Hopefully that helps.
