Gaming Desk Query?

Hi,

Sorry if it's in the wrong section.

I've been looking for days for a good Gaming Desk, but I'm stuck fast on the Capacity. I measured my space and it's as follows.

Width : up to 120cm
Height : not important
Depth: no more than 60cm (55cm is ideal)

The desks I find, look cheap or don't look good for gaming, any ideas. I like in the UK so any advice would be great as it's giving me a headache... :D

Hey, Have a look on ebay, I got a corner unit tempered black glass desk around 4 years ago for like 70 quid and its lasted ever since, Been solid and i've mounted 3 monitors, A sim steering wheel setup, My pc and a tv on it with no weight issues at all, They dont seem to have it anymore but these are very similar in wood construct, here and here . Might not be youre usual go to but surprisingly had a few good things like this.

Anyone with a decent cabinet shop could make this.
The curved legs need to be laminated wood or made of metal.

I had a 48 x 24 inch desk... it was too small.
Look for 60 x 24 inch... whatever you buy. Or... BIGGER.

That's a 30 inch screen in the bottom two pics.
The computer case is a full tower. 24 x 24 x 10 inches.
Computer desk is 60 x 24 inches.
Just the computer desk was approx. $300


I originally ordered this, but the shelf was fixed in that position and the monitor didn't fit underneath.
So I sent the top part (the hutch) back.

A mid tower case would fit in the cupboard on the lower right of the desk.


Now... every drawer is filled and there's stuff piled all over the desk.
Get the biggest desk, with the most storage, that you have room for. :cool:

I live in the UK, I ordered two dining/ function tables from Dunelm, the Vixen table at £50.00 each.
They are 80cm deep x 120cm wide, 40cm thick top, tubular steel leg frames.
I put one at 90 degrees to the other forming a very large, rock solid corner desk. The top is easily sturdy and roomy enough for a full tower, 34inch monitor, printer, speakers and all other peripherals, room to clamp monitor/ mic arms on, and thick enough to screw into to mount cable management runs if you want.
Total cost was £109.95, delivered at the height of the epidemic in just 48 hours.

    Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?
Computer Desk, always think what you are going to have on the top of the desk, is it for PC or Laptop, does it need a shelf for the monitor or monitors, many desk tops are too low for a monitor with limited or no height adjustment and not at the correct height, does it need space or a compartment to put the PC or PCs under it, if under may a Wooden base so it's not sat on a carpet. Speakers on top of the desk? a back to the underside for maybe cable management? Drawers for putting things in? Shelf over the monitor?
Where are you putting it, will it look out of place and incur the wrath of ones spouse!

Think future more than present if you follow.

I started with something similar to the below but wooden finish and not grey, added a shelf over the monitors myself and used the storage shelf area for a second PC, it's since grown an extension self built for a third Monitor and two more PCs and added a drawer.
