Gaming Laptop performance.

Gaming Laptop cant run games anymore.

About 2 years ago I bought an Acer gaming laptop (I was originally planning on using it for AutoCAD) but now I use it for gaming. It has been a great computer and can run any game I want however recently the performance has been at an all time low. Yesterday I was playing the new Call Of Duty game at 180fps and now I cant even run Minecraft at 40 on the lowest settings. I am decently technologically inclined but have tried everything I know and could not fix it. My temps often max out at around 60°C and my usage is at a normal range. Here are my specs.

Operating system: Microsoft Windows 11 Home (10.0, Build 26100)

Processor: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11400H @ 2.70GHz 6/12

Motherboard: TGL Scala\_TLS

RAM: 16 GB

Graphics card1: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU (6 GB)

Graphics card2: Intel(R) UHD Graphics (1 GB)

Any help would be greatly appreciated I am planning on upgrading to a real pc in August after I move into my new apartment however, I would like this to work until then.

It appears you have upgraded to 24h2. Did you have these issues with 23h2? Did you upgrade through windows update or did you force the update using an iso?
24h2 has negatively affected a lot of users. This article lists an issue in 11th gen core processors that might be affecting you.
There are also isssues with WD ssd's.

Build 26100 <—- That’s only half of the build, there’s another 4 numbers after 26100.

Can you list the games specifically?
Call of Duty?
Steam games?
Rockstar Games?

I'd bet a dollar to a donut on this one being a victim of 24h2. 11th gen cpu....check. Gamer...check. Dual graphics (problems have been reported on this, too. (though not listed in that particular artitcle)...check. Mama Glass's gut is just feeling it.

Could of been a bad oyster?

There have also been complaints of some games crashing with 24H2. Call Of Duty was one I read. Seen a few threads in here about games, without taking much notice (because GTAV works so I don’t care )

A little more info needed.

My gut in comparison would shrink yours, however unreliable at the best of times. I blame all the cheese I eat (and the litre of Pepsi a day)

okay so this will sound crazy but I just got home from work and my Laptop is working like new like I think it’s running better than before I have 1400fps in Minecraft???

That’s kind of impossible to know, because you haven’t given us the complete Build you have, to know what updates you have recieved.

Since some kind of magic seemed to have happened, we would have no idea. You can look at update history to see if any driver or windows update applied from the time you left until you came back.

Maybe your computer received a Windows Update that fixed your problem. You can check the update history to see when the computer was updated.

Good idea, there is a subsection called 'Driver Updates' where OEM's an MS sneak in stuff.
