Hi folks

Filezilla client (free and great software) manages to locate my NAS server and display directories, plus transfer files

File explorer sometimes even fails to show the computer its running on even if disks etc marked as shared.

As I said I think we ought to turn the whole of Windows networking over to Gandalf the wizard or even carrier pidgeons. Would seem more reliable these days.

network discover on, correct levels of smb etc etc.

Anyway had enough for today -- Beer and UK Premier league footie is my agenda for the next few hours.

Cheers

I know it's been awhile but I don't remember having all this networking problems when I was using Windows 7. IMHO, MS can take their widgets, emojis and desktop sticker and stuff them. Things like networking is way more important.

Edited because I said Windows 11 when I meant to say Windows 7.

Hi there

It usually fixes after a few re-boots etc -- what irritates me is the whole unpredictably of the thing. I can upgrade Linux and Networking always works first time !!! at least it has for years --OK when wifi first came out years ago there were problems but that's distant memory.

Apart from Office and Photoshop I find I'm using Windows a lot less these days - and when I do it's invariably running in a VM.

Cheers
