Hello. After much Hell trying to keep connection with Houghesnet Jupiter 3 internet I am going to try Starlink. They do not install. I want my dish mounted on the roof. I check with installers and they want $700-$800 and more to install. Starlink has Best Buy as an authorized installer. They will install for $279. I checked on reviews for them and it was mixed. Some people loved it and some had problems.
I would love some feedback on people who paid for Starlink roof mounted roof installation. Does anyone have feedback on Best Buy installation? Any thoughts on going with Best Buy for $279 or paying what I really can’t fit for another installer who charges over double the fees? Any feedback greatly appreciated!

Never heard of BestBuy doing any installs except for Geek Squad [but our nearest is 120 miles away]. Probably for external things they use a local company. But do be aware that some things attached on a roof may not be removable due to possible leakage when the mounting holes have to be patched, due to that our Wireless DSL ISP won't take the mount parts back.

I got my StarLink last week and have only set it up to do a quick test so far. I have the mini which works for mobile usage and it does come with a pole mount.

My speed test was 120Mbps and 30ms latency not too shabby.

You can mount it yourslf or hire any builder or aerial supply company. Mine is pole mounted in the garden as this gets a better view of the sky.

It’s a tough call. Paying twice would be a serious problem.

One could only expect that they know what they’re doing and have the right equipment to determine the placing of the dish.
As for reviews, if people aren’t getting what they expect from their Satellite internet, I could see them blaming the installer, where it may be none of their doing.

I would call them, ask what they’re prepared to do, will they determine the best placement. Do they clean up after themselves, do they connect the Satellite Router?

    …still on a horse.
You only need to point the dish toward the equator and the app will show you the exact direction for adjusting. So long as there are few or no obstructions, the dish just works. I started with it on a table in the garden and had it up an running in a few minutes.
