Graphics card questions

I have been looking at this graphics card. First, I want to verify it will work with my motherboard listed in my system specs. Also, if anyone knows of a better option for the same price on Amazon, I'd appreciate the info. I'm mainly looking for better picture quality for you tubes and fonts in general than the integrated graphics. This won't be used for gaming just looking for improved visual quality for my vision problems. Thanks!

I'm sure it'll fit in the case, the question is what motherboard are you using, that's more likely to be an issue than the case. I doubt most recent motherboards will have any problem with this GPU, I'd recommend a 700W power supply or more.

The thing I would recommend you check is that there is enough space in the case for the length of the gpu. It seems to be 13" long, and the case outside length is 18", but taking away the drive cage and fans might make it a bit tight.
The other thing I would look at for newer gpus is the power socket requirement, and whether your psu has the appropriate connections.

Pretty sure the PS has the connections and it's fully modular. Amazon.com I might need to check my case though.

Looking at images at Amazon shows the board can take 1 or 2 PCIe X16 video cards and the case shows openings in the back for adding more cards. The board also has a DisplayPort and an HDMI port for onboard video but no VGA port.

Well, a 1,000W P/S is probably overkill, but whatever works for you.

Personally, I think that eBay case is way too expensive for a used case.

A graphics card does not really increase general image quality. It does help with games, it can help with converting or editing videos, you can mine crypto currencies with it or use it for AI stuff. I'm not saying that it's useless in your case but it could be that you end up disappointed as far as general image quality is concerned.

I'm not familiar with the brand name of that GFX card but I am familiar with good ole Antec equipment. Corsair is known for quality power supplies so I think you made a good choice in this regard. Yes, it may be overkill for the system you are using, but better to have a surplus on hand than not enough juice when you need it. The case you have chosen has plenty of bay space so it will accommodate multiple drives, card readers, fan controllers, USB expansion, caddies, RAID cages, switch boxes, etc. with ease. It also appears to have ample ventilation which is always a good thing. Shipping looks a bit pricey, but if that is the look you like then you likely won't get it cheaper elsewhere because they don't make 'em anymore. If you plan on using multiple expansion cards and want plenty of front bay utility then this case is good for that too. Plus you'll have no shortage of power to run all those cards should you choose to do so.

I'm not familiar with the B-550F but I think I recall Buildzoid commenting on it being a good value for the money. I did build an ASUS TUF B450-PLUS platform for someone many years ago and I recently discovered that they're still gaming on it and they're very happy with it. Have fun building!

I don't know where the dimensions in the Amazon listing came from, but I believe they're incorrect.

Using a crude measurement from the pictures, the card is roughly 9.4" long. (A monstrous RTX 5090 is a little over 14" long.)

It's not obvious why "p5200" is unhappy with the graphics of a 5700G, especially if the Dell s2425hs (1920 X 1080, up to 100Hz) is the only monitor present. The Dell appears to only have HDMI 1.4 inputs.

Instead of a new graphics card, I think I would buy a 4K monitor and run it at 150%. My old Samsung was nice and sharp at those settings. Very crisp and detailed fonts and graphics. Of course, the OP may not have a card that will drive a 4K monitor well, so that might just be moot.

And/or poor advice.

Personally, I wish I had purchased a 2K monitor instead of a 4K Samsung monitor. Running at 150% doesn't always jive with the rest of the settings and when I step down my display settings my monitor always nags me out for not using the optimum display settings. Yes, resolution is crisp and clear and very tiny. For these old eyes everything on my 4K monitor is too small and I find myself having to use the magnifier often. Alas, the family has claimed the 2K monitor I purchased for watching videos in the reading room because it's huge and so I'm back where I started!

I've been comparing my two builds is what got me to thinking. My other build has a dedicated MSI Radeon R9 280 which is an older card. There seems to be quite a bit better visual quality even on that older card. Everything seem to be a lot more defined and distinct in every way. So I figured, maybe a newer card would surely look better especially, in the contrast which doesn't seem very good on the integrated graphics.

Having recently considered updating gpu for my own system, the size and power requirements were definitely the limiting issues - at least looking at the latest Nvidia models. I might well change to AMD next time.

Rather than looking to upgrade to a newer graphics card I'd be more wondering what is it about the 5700G that is not working for you? For your needs that 5700G should be fine. Perhaps using the correct AMD video drivers? A better monitor/monitor connection? I'm wondering if the settings you are using are correct/best choice?

My words. I really doubt that a new GPU will help the OP. The 5700G is able to output 4K at 60 Hz which is plenty if the computer is not used for gaming. Nor does the OP mention any workload which would benefit from a dedicated GPU.

I'll probably hold off on the 5700 for now since I'm unsure about it fitting my case.
