Hasleo problem

I've been using Hasleo backup for a few weeks and I'm quite happy with it.

Now, when I start up my PC, two windows appear on a blue screen. The windows offer the choice to initialize with Win 11 or Hasleo.

Any ideas?

did you add hasleo to the boot menu
click "Tools" => "Add/Remove Boot Menu" to add or remove the boot entry.

Hasleo is pretty much the only free backup with PreOS, that is the reason I use it.

You can also use msconfig to change the time or to remove the boot menu.

There is nothing fancy about a preOS boot entry.

On virtually any imaging tool, you can copy the rescue iso/usb contents to a small fat32 partition and create a boot entry.

Sure that works but it requires a USB drive.

OP was referring to the Hasleo preOS ability to boot into imaging tool from the boot menu.

Some tools do not offer that capability even though you can create a USB rescue drive. However, you can create your own boot entry.

Admittedly, I do not know if you can create a boot entry for ventoy though without trying it.

It is not necessary to copy to fat32 partition. Bootable wim can be booted from a regular ntfs partition by adding winpe entry to existing bcd store. That is how most imaging programs do it.

True either far32 or ntfs works.

What does the free version of Hasleo backup offer? Can I use it to clone Windows 11 bootable drive to a new drive?

yes if you want. Or you can use diskgenius (free version) OS migrate function.

The whole point of the boot menu is you can recover an image without needing to boot from a flash drive.

A better solution to removing the boot entry is to set the main windows boot entry to have say a 3 second timer on it so if you do not select Hasleo option after 3 seconds, it boots to Windows automatically.

By removing it, you now ALWAYS need to use a usb flash drive to do a recovery.

You should of course have a flash drive in case main drive fails.

Groan Ventoy is overkill!

It is not difficult. Microsoft provides a simple method to add an application to the recovery options. It is logical for that to be a menu so it can point to several programs.
