TL;DR
There 'may' be an issue with the latest driver available and a restore is the only way to solve it.
----
This is just a heads up for people that use the "Intel Driver & Support Assistant" from Intel. It came up with an update yesterday and I installed it. There was a small error during installation and I rebooted (optional) after. Upon reboot, my computer stated that there was NO sound hardware detected in my system, so it wasn't a driver issue that errored. It redefined the audio hardware in Device Manager and I obviously didn't have sound.
I tried reinstalling the Intel driver, added/removed the hardware in Device Manager, etc. for a few hours last night after work to no avail. When I got home from work today I restored a backup from the 30th to make sure it was before the driver install and my sound works fine again, I will NOT be installing that driver again until they release a patch or the next version.
This happened on the "System One" below if that helps others on if they should worry.
