Solved Hearing aid cannot be installed (anymore)

Windows 11
I installed one of my hearing aids on Windows 11 25H2 as follows:
Settings > Accessibility > Hearing Enhancements > Hearing Aid Assistance > Pair New Hearing Aids.

It went fine and painless except that it was installed for the wrong ear. Well, I couldn't install the second one, so I chose to delete the first one.

Now I can't install the second hearing aid because the option is no longer available, Hearing Enhancements is no longer there.
How do I get Hearing Enhancements back?

I've heard that it's not gone, but has just been hidden.
It's probably about LE Audio. If it's not there, Windows can't handle earphones.

Does anyone have a solution?

NB: English is not my language. Google has translated :)
Thanks in advance.

I've tried that, but it doesn't help anything as LE Audio must have disappeared when I removed the first hearing aid from Windows and now the hearing aids can't be found at all as Windows can only find them if LE Audio is available.

Thank you for your interest with the great guide 😊

I suggest you use Bluetooth command line tools to remove all pairings then you can start again from scratch.
One BCLT tool clears the pairings so that Windows will respond as if it had never seen your devices before and will therefore let you proceed as you did the first time.
This command is
btpair -u
You can keep the command simple as shown above by
- browsing in the cmd prompt to the folder you installed the tools in, or
- accepting the option during installation to add the tools' folder to your Path settings, or
- putting in the full folder path to the tools' folder.

As you'll see in their instructions [given for each command in each link on their main page], you can use them to remove individual devices instead e.g.
btpair -u -n"Nokia 6300"
There's an example in
Remove just one Bluetooth device - DrNefario #83 - TenForums

I took a while to be able to use the tools for individual devices and just did what I've suggested for you - unpair them all & start again [even though that meant I also had to re-pair my mouse which had had no problems]. I'm more comfortable with the tools now and can, for example, unpair my headphones using
btpair -u -n"soundcore Q20i"

I check what names are being used for each device by running their tool
btdiscovery
and copying the results into a text file for future reference.

There are a lot more commands in the BCLT toolset. I've only mentioned the ones I think you want for this particular problem.

All the best,
Denis

Welcome to ElevenForum.

It's really worth making time to browse through the ElevenForum Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every ElevenForum page [within the Tutorials dropdown list].
- At the foot of the ElevenForum Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.
- I download a new copy each month.
- By downloading it as a spreadsheet I can benefit from Excel's excellent filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
- ElevenForum tutorials are also listed at Tutorials and there's a shortcut to that at the top of every page.

You can search ElevenForum using the search box in the top-right corner of all ElevenForum webpages or using Advanced Search - ElevenForum
- You can also search ElevenForum threads in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:elevenforum.com after your search term. For example,
Taskbar setup site:elevenforum.com
- [This is what the search box in the top-right corner of ElevenForum webpages does automatically]

Hi everyone – and thanks for your interest in helping me 😊

My problem was that I had to go to “Settings > Accessibility > Hearing Enhancements > Hearing Aid Assistance > Pair New Hearing Aids” It worked the first time, but then it didn’t.

I made a drastic decision and probably did what I shouldn’t do.

I went to the usual place where you pair Bluetooth devices: "Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Devices: Add Devices".
And voila – it all worked right away.

I’m pretty sure Microsoft has changed the way you connect devices, otherwise this method wouldn’t work at all 😊
Remember, English is not my language - so Google helped me out )

Thank you again for your help 😊

Case closed!
