Just trying to install teams.
Had to make a screenshot as I have no other route to investigate. No logs.
1 - Download teams from Microsoft Website.
2 - Run exe as Admin.
3 - See error message below.

Any help is much appreciated !!

I had similar results in a VM trying to install an update from the Store. They might be having issues, but also, which Teams are you trying ot install, the personal one (to use with your personal Microsoft account) or the one for work?

I downloaded the personal one to use with my Microsoft account.

PS: I used winget to install Teams. It now "seems" installed but when I click on it, I get the same error message as above.

PS: Just discovered that if I am using the Web version " Checking your credentials..." I am getting the same error as above. Now I am really confused..Never had issue on Windows 10..

More than likely it's having issues communicating with Microsoft servers to download the actual install files.

That file is entirely too small for it to be the full installation package.

Yup, Down Detector shows a lot of issues just started here recently with Teams.


I'd just wait a while and then try again.

I had an issue installing teams yesterday, took 3 attempts. Forever loading and not much else

Out of curiosity, did you modify your Windows 11 installation in any way after you got it installed? Not simple things like changing a background, or such, but any real modifications such as registry entries to allow / block certain features, etc? Maybe such as installing an anti-virus program that is blocking traffic, or else modifying your network connects, etc.?

If this has been going on for a week, I also assume that you've tried downloading the client file again, but as the error occurs during install, it''s the servers that it seems to have issues connecting to.

I believe you hit the nail right on the head. My iPhone is not on the local network. My laptop is.
Also, the fact that when using the web version I am still faced with the same issue, would tend to prove you are correct.
As far as tweaking the registry, no. I have not modified it in any ways. Lacking the knowledge as well :)
Now, understanding what is happening on the local network is basically above my paygrade :)

They've had issues for a while, starting last week. I'm hoping they get them fixed here soon, it's getting beyond irritating, my company uses Teams since we're all spread out all over the globe.

Update: Very strange but rebooted a couple since because of other issues with Win 11 (disappearing taskbar) and teams is now installed.
Very Very Strange. You mentioned Teams having issue in an earlier, and that was probably it.. Windows will never cease to amaze me :)

Microsoft servers have been taking hits left and right. I'm constantly getting emails from work since I'm the admin for this or that service being down, etc. Glad it works for you now.
