Solved Hostname resolving to wrong ip address?

Hi everyone, I have a problem where it seems like im getting two ipaddress for different... hostnames? Im not that technical. 192.168.0.193 should be dave_amd, but when i ping dave_amd it tries to resolve 192.168.0.170? Is there a way to fix this? The dave_amd machine only has 1 nic and wifi is disabled.

I'll check the hosts file but Im not exactly sure what it is, I'll have to google that.

I didnt so much as solve it as just formatted windows and put it back on

hosts will override and not query the DNS. Unless you are running your own DNS, the resolving of the names to IP is coming from somewhere.
Do you have a resolv.conf in %WINDIR%\system32\drivers\etc directory - If so, what is the contents of that file?
