When Windows suggests to open a document in a set of programs, there is no close window button. Using keyboard one can press ESC, but what to do with mouse? In Windows 2000 even the Windows Logon dialog had an X in the corner!

Right click outside of the open with box or better still on an area of the desktop if any is showing. I just tried it on mine and it worked.
