Solved How do I copy my Windows Version number so I can paste it into my request?

I want to ask another question about Casting my Windows 11 Desktop Screen to my Android TV any suggestion about whether such an enquiry is reasonable for this Forum and where to place it will be welcome.

Have you tried opening a cmd prompt and typing "systeminfo" and letting it execute. Go to the top of the list and just left click mouse over the version number, then it's in your paste buffer from you to use.

Just open a Command Prompt. The full version number will be seen and can be copied from there.

I had not - but that works well and gives lots of details I do not understand including this

That works OK - thank you -

I got this plus a lot of other info (I did not look at the VIRTUAL bit - that is confusing)

"OS Name: Microsoft Windows 11 Home
OS Version: 10.0.22621 N/A Build 22621"

Prseumably that is enopugh information for you computer wizzes to know what system I am using?

I am overwhelmed by the speed of the repies.

Re the paper and pen suggestion - yes that is what I normally use BUT as a neurodevelopmentally disabled person - transcribing stuff can be problematic - in my dotage (74 years) I know look for what is simplest and easiest to remember

If for some reason we need to paste it in here... we just take a screen shot of winver.

Before I posted the opening thread - which was going to be about something else , I thought that was required but I had a prompt and as I was not sure if the details of my device were up to date - for speed - I thought I would put it in the thread - sorry if I misunderstood.

The easiest way to copy/paste the version number like you originally asked is to click Start, Open Settings, and while in the "System" section, scroll to the bottom to "About". Then click the "Copy" button that is circled in the screenshot. When you do this, it will paste into the forum like the following:

Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 22H2
Installed on ‎5/‎11/‎2022
OS build 22624.1391
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22639.1000.0
