I want to update my Micron brand OEM SSD drive, how can I update it, I don't understand which SSD series it is suitable for, can you help me? The driver shows in the device manager as 2006, which is a very old date, has there been any update since then? If not, it seems strange to me .:(

There is nothing to update. MS drivers are deliberately given an old date so if drives need an oem specific drive (rare), windows update does not overwrite it with the MS drive. The actual driver will be be much more recent.

In simple terms, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Thank you for your reply. I will take it into consideration and I will not update, I do not want to unintentionally break it as a result of a faulty update. Thank you again.

If you want to update the driver you need to update Standard NVM Express Controller under Storage Controllers. The latest driver update is 2.0.19 but it gives similar to identical performance with the generic one. Also the Micron driver can give some troubles.

You are referring to the OEM Firmware of the Micron SSD not the NVMe driver.

This OEM Firmware is updated either via Windows updates or the Laptop manufacturers update application.
If you want to know look at your updates history for either of those, or they will be in the manufacturers updates list.

The Micron Storage Executive App will tell you the version of the OEM Firmware.
> System information and Drive details.
The Firmware Updates has yellow warning panels.
I assume that is what you have been looking at, so this Micron App is for information only.

It will also appear in the Hardware ID of the Device Manager > Details Tab > Hardware IDs, at the end of one of the strings.

The Microsoft NVMe driver is correct, the 2006 date is just used for a technical reason I forget, but no need to worry about that.
