How to either view or delete a password for a website stored in Microsoft Password Manager?

I want to check the password for a website that's stored in Microsoft Password Manager, or failing that, delete and reenter the entry. When I try to do either, I'm asked to enter a Windows password, but I neither have nor want a Windows password. Leaving the password field empty doesn't work. How can I change or delete the stored password?

If you login to your computer with a Local Account go to Search and type control userpasswords2 and press Enter. Go to the Advanced tab and Click the Manage Passwords button. This opens the Credential Manager which lists all of the passwords on your computer.
You have a Windows Password whether you remember it or not. If you didn't have a password, then you could have left it blank.

If you login with a Microsoft Account, it is the password for your Email account.

If you log in with e a Microsoft Account (your email address) and don't remember the password, you can go to https://accounts.microsoft.com and login with the last password you remember. If you can't remember, then choose Forget Password.

"control userpasswords2" is for user accounts, which weren't mentioned.

You'll probably need credential manager

• Click the Start button and search for Credential Manager < Copy to clipboard.
• Select Credential Manager from the search results.
• Click on either the Web Credentials or Windows Credentials tab to view the relevant saved items.
• Locate the credential you want to remove and click the disclosure arrow to its right to expand the options.
• Click the Remove button.

Passkeys are different again.


Failing that, are they stored in your Web Browser? Which browser?
