In this I must install Windows 11 or is it possible to clone the system drive from HDD to nvme array ?

What little I've worked with RAID was RAID 1 where the second drive was a mirror of the first, not usually seen in a file manager. The main drawback I've read with RAID 0 if one drive fails for whatever reason the whole system has failed, files are 'striped' across both drives. Also, and probably for both types, removal of one drive can break the boot process, done that once with RAID 1 when taking out the second drive.

Generally speaking, running SSD's and NVMe's in a RAID 0 configuration....is pointless. Unless you need your drive to be twice as large, I wouldn't bother. You aren't going to see a performance increase. In fact, you might actually go slower.

I didn't as I was doing a clean install of the test version of Win10. The most prominent bit of wisdom is to have only one drive installed during setup then add as desired, not sure how that would work with RAID 1 hardware feature.

Hi,
Raid is old and for when ssd's were very expensive so people got small ones and used raid

Now ssd's are a lot cheaper and raid is not needed

Get a small 256/ 512gb ssd for os
Get another 1tb or 2tb for personal files and games and be happy without raid unless you need to kill some crawling bugs lol

Would that be faster performance that you will never see anywhere but in benchmarks?

Hi,
Yep more of a pain in the backside than anything now days

If you want some performance and plenty of memory look into ram disk if your board supports it that is.

yes there is a software called primocache . It write and read from RAM so first time it cache the loading or data and on second time it read from memory. Is that a good choice ?

Hi,
I haven't used either one some people I know do ramdisk for virtual machines and some programs they want to give a little kick start

Also I can not find RAID driver for my board

You have to have raid supported by the board, otherwise you cannot boot windows. Raid 0 is striped across the two nvme drives and if the EFI BIOS does not have a driver for this, it can't read the disks to boot windows. The way it works is the EFI driver understands the RAID configuration and can boot to Windows, at which point it hands off the RAID to the corresponding Windows RAID driver.

You can get higher sequential read and write performance, the random i/o will be the same. And for the sequential read and write performance, you will be limited by the the bus between the CPU and chipset, which might not be that much more than a single nvme drive can do,
