I used WinAero Tweaker to get rid of "Extract All..." from Context Menu and it worked, but only for .ZIP files. "Extract All.." still appears in .RAR files (and possibly other file types as well?). Is there any way to disable it? I'm using Windows 11 26100.1297

According to the WinRAR website, this is how you enable it. I would assume you undo the process to disable?

Open WinRAR, select Options and then Settings. Choose Integration from the tabs at the top and click on the button "Context Menu Items…" Select the relevant checkmarks (Add to archive, Open with WinRAR, Extract To) and click OK. You will now be able to right-click on files and open, add, compress rar files directly.

Its not a WinRAR option. Also, all the WinRAR options are under "WinRAR"

Not sure why the option would reappear just for RAR files, it seems ridiculous.

Yes. WinRAR is the default app for all archives including .RAR files.

Found the fix for this.
With help from JoshMcGrath

Download PowerRun_v1.7 Portable App
Easiest way to bypass the denied permissions when trying to delete the following keys. Running Regedit as admin doesn’t work.

Run PowerRun_x64.exe (this is portable)
Go to "System Tools" and open "Registry Editor"

Export the key first (always a good idea) then delete the key.
Go to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.rar\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
delete {EE07CEF5-3441-4CFB-870A-4002C724783A} on the left side of the registry editor under ContextMenuHandlers
(may have to sign out or reboot but I don’t think so)

Extract all also shows for 7zip files.

For 7zip

Go to:
Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.7z\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
delete {EE07CEF5-3441-4CFB-870A-4002C724783A} on the left side of the registry editor under ContextMenuHandlers

I didn't have to sign out for this, it's gone.

To remove the "Extract All" for Windows default context (zip files) if needed:

Go to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.zip\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
delete {b8cdcb65-b1bf-4b42-9428-1dfdb7ee92af}

Is this the new effort by Microsoft to add support for other archive formats?

I'm a long way from a Windows 11 PC, but I think that the following should work.

Block the extension by putting the CLSID in

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensions\Blocked

As a REG_SZ value with any data. Or in HKCU if you prefer.

If for some reason you wish to be selective for which extensions you want to block this, try the technique in:

This would be straightforward if you added the value via

HKCU\SOFTWARE\classes\SystemFileAssociations\.rar\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

or require permission evading gymnastics to set for all users.

have you tried ccleaner which can remove items from the context menu.

the settings for this are in tools > start up > context menu
you can disable an entry or delete an entry in the context menu.

hope this is of help, best of luck. Steve ..

CCleaner only allows to disable/enable third party context menu items.

Go to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.zip\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
delete {b8cdcb65-b1bf-4b42-9428-1dfdb7ee92af}
Ok i'm gonna give a try a little later and report back. Thanks.

Tested it 3 times, I hope you'll be pleased. PowerRun is actually a great asset. Cheers
