How will video editor find its files on new win 11 clean install?

so I use davinci resolve on my win 10 box. put win 11 on a new ssd. if I install the vid editor on the win 11 drive how is going to find its data files it uses to put together videos?

I'm not familiar with that particular app, but in most apps, if the location of the data files changes, you have to go into the app settings and point it to the location where the data files reside.

I would try the same as I do for Firefox. That is visit C:\ProgramData, C:\Program Files, C:\Program Files (x86) (also check in the respective Common subfolder), C:\Users\your-user\AppData\Local, C:\Users\your-user\AppData\LocalLow and C:\Users\your-user\AppData\Roaming folders and backup any folder related to DaVinci Resolve from Windows 10. I would then copy these to the respective folders in Windows 11 BEFORE installing the application. Then I would install the same version of the application. Setup should detect the folders and "upgrade" the application as necessary. Hopefully then I should have all my old data and settings. Doing that in Firefox and Chrome you get all your bookmarks, history, theme and even your passwords. No harm to try it on DaVince Resolve. Where you see "your-user" is your actual user folder.
