Hi guys,
I hope somebody can help me making my Mac show up under the W11 network.
I just got a new Dell Vostro with W11 Pro.
I only have 1 Window PC and 1 Mac, both being on the same network, both using WORKGROUP, same user name and password.
My W11 account is a local account (when setting up the Dell I changed from MS account to local account).
I setup W11 to use private network, shared my W11 C drive.
On the Mac I went into system preferences, network, advanced, WINS, have my NetBIOS name as GERDS-MAC, and workgroup = WORKGROUP. I tried it with WINS Server 192.168.178.1 and without a WINS server IP address. I also had tried to use the Macs IP address as the WINS server IP address.
I further setup Sharing in system preferences, file sharing, options, my account name was displayed, i set the check box and entered the password, clicked done.
I see other network devices like my NAS, my DSL router, even my Bluera player is displayed.
I also googled my problem, reviewed all suggestions, but so far, I have not figured out why my Mac does not show up in W11.
I see my Windows C drive on the Mac and have full access.
Does anybody have any other suggestions i could try?
