New experiences coming to Copilot+ PCs & Windows 11​

Microsoft continues to drive innovation in the AI space with new features for Copilot+ PCs and Windows 11. These experiences are designed to streamline workflows, enhance security and boost productivity for both personal and professional users. Surface Pro (11th Edition) for Business and Surface Laptop (7th Edition) are among the devices that will benefit from these updates, leveraging the power of AI.

Copilot+ PCs will benefit from native apps optimized for Arm processors and enhanced compatibility across productivity, VPN, and entertainment apps. These innovations, available to Windows Insider users starting this fall, 1 mark a significant step forward in making PCs faster, smarter and more secure.

Windows 11, version 24H2: What’s new for IT pros​

The latest Windows 11, version 24H2, is now available via WSUS and Windows Update for Business. This release brings 36 months of support for Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 11, version 24H22 making it an ideal time for organizations to begin targeted deployments. Our latest Surface devices are optimized to take full advantage of these updates.

For IT pros managing deployment and security, refreshed tools such as the Windows 11 Security Baseline and Group Policy settings are now available. The release also includes updates for Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) and additional resources for Windows Enterprise evaluation and Windows Autopatch.

With this release, organizations can ensure smoother deployments while enhancing security and user experience across their device fleets, including Surface devices.

How to get new experiences for Windows 11​

  • AI-driven experiences for Copilot+ PCs: Starting in November, Windows Insiders will be the first to experience new AI features that offer a more natural, conversational way to get things done on your PC.
  • Windows 11 24H2 Update: Available now, this update is rolling out in phases, prioritizing eligible devices4 running Windows 11, version 22H2 and 23H25 that are ready for a seamless experience. To get it sooner, navigate to Settings > Windows Update and opt in for the latest updates.
  • Commercial and education customers: The 24H2 update is now available via Windows Server Update Services and other enterprise channels. This release also marks the launch of the next Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) version, providing up to five years of support for specialized environments like healthcare and manufacturing.
