If Macrium Reflect X is too expensive, what will you switch to? You may select up to two and you can change your vote later. The system only allows ten choices, so please don't complain if your favourite is not listed! I've tried to pick the ten best-known solutions.
I think many will just stick with Macrium Reflect 8.XX

I'll stick with Reflect v8 until Macrium have lost so many customers they see the error of their decision and offer a standard licence for Reflect X!

I am looking at Paragon Hard Disk Manager because it provides a comprehensive package of tools in addition to the backup function. However, my go to for backup is still good old Ghost.

No need for the sarcastic comment. Didn't you see the smiley face I posted? I thought you could replace one of the options with "Stay with Reflect v8.1". I was only making a friendly suggestion so that people like me wouldn't have to post comments. They would just tick the box.

Write your own poll and you will find out there's no pleasing everyone. I explained my reasoning. My remark was not sarcastic, you just chose to take it that way.

Just meant as a suggestion here which addresses "the no pleasing everyone" issue you raised. I know the Poll is limited to 10 but you probably could have dropped one of the 10 and swap it for the none of the above -- please ignore the suggestion if you really do want the data on all those applications.

Perhaps you could have added "None of the above" which might mitigate a load of replies that aren't relevant to the issue. In that option also say - please don't comment on or mention those if you are only really interested in the 10 options you've placed in the poll.

The poll has been viewed over a hundred times with no votes. I guess everyone will stick with Macrium be it 8.xx or X

Please take no offense and consider this strictly as constructive criticism.

I know there are 10 options but the question asks "If Macrium became too expensive, what would you switch to" Therefore the poll is tied directly to the cost of any substitute so they need numbers in the list (or if it's free) or even a site for them to go to to compare features and cost.. If a user doesn't know those options, and most do not, I would think many wouldn't tick off a poll choice about unfamiliar software that he knowss nothing about.

At the very least there should be 2 more boxes. One for 'I don't know', the other 'I'll use the version I have as long as it will carry me.' JMO. While a lot of people do not want to pay anything at all, others are so dedicated to the software, they'll give up extra coffee & donuts to pay a price increase if need be.

I though the question was very clear. If a persons choice isn’t there, then the poll obviously isn’t for them. It isn’t hard.
Too much to ask that people don’t derail a post into something that it wasn’t intended to be.
As I mentioned in your original post, after reading the old poll from last page (in reverse) it was clear I’d of been wasting my time creating a new poll.

If you created a poll “Which MacOS did you proffer?” members would say “Windows 7”

I was interested in the opinion of seasoned members or well-informed newbies. I think you should start a poll in parallel asking who will bite the bullet and who will stick with 8.1. If you do, I will link to it and you can link to my poll.

Just to point out that I spent hours preparing the poll question and responses and anyone who can do better is invited to try. All constructive criticism is welcome, but action speaks louder than words.

I will continue using the licensed MR 8.1 permanent license until it no longer works (likely 3-5 years), then switch. Hasleo look like the contender but that could change by the time when it is needed.

I was considering a second license for a desktop PC for full and incremental file backups. The free MR version does not support this. A discounted permanent MR license could be justified but that has not been offered for over a year, and I will not do subscriptions.

This led to a lot of research of other products. The trend seems to be to the subscription model, a trickle down from the business arm. Back in the day this was the rental model for data processing machines, telephones, etc., a lucrative business. Then competition changed the landscape to the purchased model. The pendulum seems to be swinging back, so we have to hope that the alternate vendors provide a good competitive product at a reasonable price. Provide it and they will come!

ps. none of the image backup product vendors provide the full/increment/differential features with advanced scheduling that I need, but I have found a non-image backup product that with a permanent license.

I think you will lose a lot of customers by moving to a subscription model.

I'm on the Elevenforum and many members are upset. They plan to stay on 8.1 until some Windows change breaks it.

Then they will move to Hasleo which seems to be just as good and is free.

Please reconsider, especially for loyal customers with a four-pack.

£50 a year per computer is far too expensive.

I'm not voting, too, because I'm sticking with v8x. MR X is over four-times what I spent for the previous version -- something I can not afford.
