Win 11
I was having a problem with Event Viewer 'snap-ins' not loading and ending up making event viewer inactive/unusable.

I decided to do an in-place upgrade using the latest version of Win 11 - an easy process outlined and detailed in these forums.
My issues were not resolved, exact same issues remained - now I am faced with the laborious task of a fresh installation and all the various programs I depend on.

Appreciate any feedback why this was not resolved/advice on how to completely reset Win 11 MMC 'Snap-ins' back to defaults (other than a wipe and fresh installation.

Windows 11 22H2 OS Build 22623.1095
I had the same problem on a Win10 PC as well as on 11 and the only common factors were the defender update on the 15th and the same definition files, it seems to have cleared itself here when the next lot of definition updates arrived, Event viewer now working as normal. So it's not related to the update as it occurred on both 10 and 11, you will probably find the Reliability Monitor is blank as well until the problem either fixes itself, as it appears to have here or Microsoft sort it out!

I am surprised a repair install did not fix this.
I'm not surprised. Those of us that have suffered this same problem have identified the Antimalware Platform update 4.18.2202.4 as the root cause of this. Not everyone is affected, of my 3 machines that have had this update only one suffered from this issue.

A fix that has worked for some of us is in post #45 here....
