This tutorial will show you how to install and uninstall third-party Xbox Game Bar widgets for your account in Windows 10 and Windows 11.

You can open the Xbox Game Bar to take control of all your favorite gaming activities while playing on your Windows 11 device.

The Controller Bar is a view of the Xbox Game Bar that allows you to quickly access games and apps using any Xbox controller.

The Home Bar is the bar at the top of the Game Bar screen. Your favorites will appear on the Home Bar for quicker access to widgets. Open widgets will show underlined on the Home Bar.

Xbox Game Bar includes a Widget Store that allows you to discover, install and remove widget applications. Each widget application can contain 1 or more widgets, as well as optional desktop applications.

When you install a Xbox Game Bar widget from the Widget Store, the widget will show on the Widget Menu by default to open it from.

Default widgets included with Xbox Game Bar that cannot be uninstalled:
  • Audio – Get the perfect mix by adjusting the sound levels of your game, chat, and background apps.
  • Capture – Record a clip or take a screenshot when something awesome happens.
  • From the developer – Stay in the know from the creators of your favorite games.

FYI - Widgets are a subset of Microsoft Store apps which are compatible with Game Bar. So you can manage them using the normal Store app methods for install & removal.
