I have been trying to install Windows 11 on my 2021 HP Laptop 14-fq1000 with Rizen-5 running on Windows 10 Home 64-bit Version 19043.1266. I ran the PC Health app and it says I meet all the requirements to upgrade to Windows 11. I run the Microsoft Installation Assistant and everything runs fine until I get to 85% of the Installation process, then the Clock starts and asks to Restart. I restart and get the following error message on bootup "Unexpect_Kernel_Mode_Trap" and resets back to Windows 10.
I have gone thru this process 5 times now and have done the following.
1. Checked Windows update for any updates available.
2. Updated 14 drivers from the HP Software site.
3. Disconnected all connected devices from the USB port.
4. Ran the Windows Installation Troubleshooter - found no issues.
5. Reset the PC back to factory settings
6. Reinstalled Windows 10 twice
Does anyone have insight into what I can do to get Windows 11 to install and get past the 85% mark? I really think it is probably some driver that is causing this but I don't know what to do or how to determine exactly what is causing the problem.
