This appears to be a problem only with Outlook, but as it is intermittent and I have been mainly using Outlook since I noticed it, it may occur with other apps but I have never seen the problem elsewhere. It is difficult to describe and impossible to take a screen grab. I might try to get a photo of the screen next time it happens.
The issue is that while typing a message a line of text on the message screen either disappears, gets distorted, or overwritten by some or all of a line of text from above or below. It corrects itself as soon as I move the cursor or touch a key (hence difficulty of obtaining a screen grab).

I have not seen the issue in Word nor has it happened while writing this question.

It is difficult to describe and impossible to take a screen grab.
Have you thought about the print screen key?

I had a similar problem on my laptop where the cursor jumps around and moves text all around, I traced it to the touchpad and even though I disabled it to use a wifi mouse the cursor still jumped around, I ended up uninstalling the touchpad drivers.

I thought maybe that yours was the same but chking your specs (thx for fillin' some of the sections) you have a dsktp, that eliminates that unless you do have some type of wifi touchpad attached to your machine.

I don't have a touchpad. My keyboard and mouse are Bluetooth. Might be worth re-setting those given what you say. Will try Thanks for the suggestion.

This looks like your display is not refresh correctly. I would try updating the graphics drivers first to make sure there is no hardware issue.

Driver is fine. And as I said, issue seems restricted to Outlook.

See the graphics settings in Outlook. Try disabling or enabling hardware acceleration.

Check your browser to for hardware acceleration, with Firefox it's tools >general section near bottom.

Edge, go to the 3dots at upper right >scroll to bottom for settings >system and performance and it's at the top.

This. Change whatever the current value is, then for peace of mind, reboot your system and then try and see if it continues to occur.

Also I would manually download the latest graphics drivers from manufacturer and install them, even if the same version is already installed. This should fix faulty driver files. Don't rely on Windows Update. Download the latest official drivers from manufacturer.

I tweaked the various Outlook settings relating to display, even if it was on/off or change and then change back and either coincidentally or it was some glitch in the settings, but the problem seems to have gone away.
