Here we go; issue started yesterday afternoon. Already working on a laptop issue. Edge in Win 11 opens up just fine but will not open any pages, It will likely fix itself like it did yesterday except yesterday I reset Edge and re-synced it ok. Fine until this morning. As a hopeful tool, I installed chrome again thinking it might work; nope, Edge stops and so does chrome. Wi-Fi is fine; both my email programs work as does all other dependent software , World of Warships. Did speed tests and all ok.

So, you brainier than me people, where should I begin. Lucky this laptop sort of works.

Well, a good start would be to tell us "What pages are you talking about"?

If you're trying to get your browser, for instance, to open a certain type of page/doc you may need to tell Windows that, in the file associations section.

For some weird reason, which I will probably never know, when I clicked on the URL link to come to this forum, this morning, windows popped up a little window asking me what program is associated with this file. I selected Firefox (always) and the link opened, and all was well. I'm thinking that may have been caused to some recent (yesterday) updates/upgrades to both Firefox and Edge, that broke the File Association.

Any web page at all; won't go to google apple Samsung; doesn't matter; those kind of pages; just sits there with the spinning circle; then stops; Edge and Chrome the same; while I can still do email. It looks just like wi-fi is down, but it isn't. And then poooooof; up it comes on it's own like this afternoon. Came back from shopping and all is fine. All this time the laptop, which is on the same network and router wirelessly, worked perfectly. Edge came right up to it's home page. And yes, Windows updates have caused issues over the years for sure; usually get fixed a couple of updates down the road.

Looks like I have this solved; weird it was! NORDVPN was not logging in correctly randomly. Maybe I should have looked there sooner. So, I removed everything having to do with the VPN; re-booted and all was well; then reloaded my vpn and all is still good.
There you go I hope and thanks for the input. I had a lot of weird issues after I migrated my 1T SSD to my new 2T SSD. Like about 50 % of my contacts were gone in gmail, outlook and windows mail. That has been a pain in the ass for sure.

Assuming the outlook (lower case 'o') is outlook.com, the contacts issues with outlook and gmail will have nothing to do with the migration, those details are stored on the service providers servers, not locally on your device.

As for WLM, an antiquated, outdated, unsupported program from Microsoft .. anything can happen, and probably will continue to.

WLM, at one time was my go-to email client; did everything I needed with multiple mail accounts. Then it started to fail due to lack of support from MS. The windows mail I was referring to is still a part of win 11 and I only use it as an option when "o"utlook was having a rubbish fit. What I said here was changed to "rubbish". It is just called mail in win 11. Referring to outlook in Office 2019.
I don't know why I lost the contacts; fact is I did. I would have thought the GMAIL would have been the last to be altered, but not the case. And I have done migrations twice before and they both worked just fine. I wish I did know what happened just to improve my knowledge!!

Had thunderbird on for a full year. didn't like it much. As I recall I found it cumbersome to use. Like web based Gmail still is. People have to just find what works for them is all.
