MSI Afterburner does have its advantages. Personal preference absolutely prevails in cases such as these. I've used both and still use both. You should be alright with either. Personally, as a habit, I will use the software associated with the hardware while it is still covered by the factory warranty. This rules out any potential suggestion that some "third party" app damaged my hardware in the event of a warranty issue. Just a personal practice.

Gave Dell touch screen with Windows 11 to daughter and got me an OTVOC. Being a PC builder I own many desktop PCs as well. I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.
I'm not sure which program you refer to. In MSI afterburner:

Click on the gear, second from the bottom on the left.
That brings up a window. Click on the Fans tab:

When messing with settings, it's useful to know that the icon near center, bottom of the main screen, resets to the default settings.

I usually stay with the default fan profile. 0 RPM when it's not loaded. The fans get moderately loud at full speed on a 4090. The 4060 is much quieter. (Uses about 1/4 the power of the 4090 at full chat.)
On the right side of Afterburner where the lock is, looks like #1 and 2 are lit up. What does that indicate? Just wondering because mine are not lit up. I'm running in default mode.

They're lit when there are saved profiles. You could come up with an overclocked profile and save it. (Not necessarily recommended.)
