is it necessary to have a vpn

I had ivacy vpn lifetime now al the clients are transfert to purevp en now i see that i only have -+120 left.
Is it necesseray to have a vpn for bittorent end iptv?
So yes wat is a cheap one and a good one

I am a French citizen and I travel a lot. I use VPN to be able to watch my french streaming services (Canal+, Netflix, and even free french national channels) when out of France. I believe this really sucks as these providers should allow you to use the services when away. They should identify you as customer and a national by account and not only by IP!

One of the best out there (IMO) is Nordvpn. What I like about it its that it has "Tunnelling" -- i.e when the VPN is connected you can exclude chosen apps from vpn control -- i.e you might have local discs attached or email servers etc.

I use VPN for when travelling to watch content I've PAID FOR e.g Netflix when I'm travelling and the stuff I want to watch is Geo-blocked by some stupid overpaid "rights lawyers" or some "Nanny State" regs by govts in those countries. If I've PAID for my content and I'm working temporarily in another country I still should be able to watch stuff I've legally paid for ¬!!!! End of and I don't care "what the law says --its bonkers".

You don't need to have a VPN for using bittorrent etc if the torrents you are downloading are legal / not pirate stuff -- e.g I often download new versions of Linux distros such as archlinux via bittorrent -- it;s often faster and as some of these open source distros are maintained by unpaid volunteers it's far cheaper for the providers / maintainers of these distros to supply them via bittorrent than by using dedicated servers or mirrors.

Maybe Ms should make use of this when their servers get overloaded. !!!

I do NOT condone piracy at all -- and don't encourage ANYBODY to use it. Far better to get a genuine 100% FREE unfettered Internet -- that's what we should be aiming at rather than having to get round stuff via vpn's etc. I do agree that with the absolute splitting of streaming services the sheer cost of some items tempts people into "Alternative" sources -- here the emphasis should be on instead of gouging subscribers - start supplying content at fair and reasonable prices.

I've been using torguard and NordVpn. but lately most of these services have become problematic when it comes to streaming. Some sites will see that you are using VPN and refuse access. So the best way is a personal fixed IP VPN service.

As an alternative to a VPN, you might try Cloudflare WARP. The website is: WARP | Cloudflare Zero Trust docs
I use it with good results.

isn't this a dns service? I already use cloudflare dns. But what does WARP offer more ? Can it bypass géo-localisation blockage? or will it allow to access censored and non accessible sites?

I just installed it on my PC and going to check it out :)

I have installed and tried this for few hours now. It's really amazing because it is working exactly like a VPN! My ip has changed and there is no DNS leak at all. One thing that I realized is that my connection speed to few sites I regularly use have increased! Now the question is: How can it be possible that such service is accessible for free!?

It seems to me, that this 'advice' is conflicting directly to the Eleven Forum rules here:
And in particular rule 4:
No piracy or discussion of piracy allowed at all. Such as software, music, videos, and other intellectual property violations (e.g., downloading youtube videos locally, etc.) - it is forum policy that no help shall be given to people who knowingly steal software or services.

Please stop giving advice for those purposes!
I know the admin is very strict in banning users that don't comply to that rule...

VPN can be useful for many other purposes, like not wanting to be traced in forums where political discussions are going on. Must not be especially for illegal purposes!

have just installed it and it is running very smoothly.
looks like its using something like a local installed DNS Resolving/Caching server connecting to CloudFlare DNS servers.
very simple, very clever, very secure. i believe Microsoft Edge browser uses it as their VPN.

I had to stop using Cloudflare Warp. When it was activated I couldn't download my Comcast email.

The only time I use a VPN is when I want to watch my Xfinity cable TV away from home. My home internet router has OpenVPN server built-in, so I just VPN into my home network. VPN's are good for two things - when you need to change your apparent location or when you need to attach a remote computer to a specific network. If you are using https, a VPN does not increase security any more than what the https encryption provides.
