I have tried doing this using Audacity with multiple different settings for Record — nothing works. I get the recording of my microphone okay but nothing for the laptop's audio output. I also tried this using Total Recorder, that didn't work either.

Is it possible to Record audio of Microsoft Teams Free/Personal at all?

Audacity what you hear works for me. A slight tweak of the equalizer/sound makes it even better. Will jump on PC in a sec and check my settings. I used it recently but not with teams, with a website that does text to voice in various languages or accents.

Unless Teams can block it somehow?

I do have a suspicion that Teams can block recording of the 'speakers audio output'. As far as I know the official line is that full recording of a Teams meeting now requires that the user has a subscription to Teams and the recording would be done to One-Drive, from which the subscriber can download a copy if they wish. I don't have subscription to Teams, don't want one either, and wouldn't touch One-Drive with a barge-pole.

Audacity:

Under Audio setup, I have the default playback device and in Recording device, Microsoft Sound Mapper Input.

But I always need to run the clip through Audacity “Normalize”.
Select all of the audio clip and use the "Amplify or Normalize (What I use)" effect under "Effect > Volume and Compression". "Normalize" effect gives a more balanced increase in volume

You may even find that Audacity is working but the sound (volume) is terrible low. Really low. Normalise fixes that.

Seems that for Teams Free/Personal Microsoft prohibits recording of speaker output (though microphone input can be recorded). To be able to record a meeting you need to have a paid-for plan and the recording, which you have to manually initiate, will automatically be stored on One-Drive from which the user can download a copy if they so wish. For short information on this see (Read the section titled "How To Record a Teams Meeting in 4 Easy Steps".):

How to Record a Microsoft Teams Meeting and Access the Recording

So hoping there is maybe some uber-wizard-guru that knows of a way around this Microsoft imposed restriction.
