I don't use Dell Command Update. All my Dell systems get their updates through Windows Update instead, including the BIOS firmware updates.

But it works the same way. For the BIOS update you have downloaded and installed the BIOS update package, but it's waiting to do its job. It will flash your BIOS at the next reboot.

Quite safe. I've lost count of the number of times I've done a BIOS update.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

It's a bit late now. Looks like the update has already been applied and will come into force next time you shut down > start up.

Just make sure when this happens you do nothing else. Let it run its course by itself. Any interference during a BIOS update can be fatal to the device.

We all manage our updates differently. I have 3 Dell systems myself. Unlike @Bree, I do not let Windows Update update any of my drivers. I get it straight from the source using Dell Command Update like you do. It is by far the safest way to get your driver updates in my opinion. So yes, any time that application finds outdated drivers, you can safely install them. Dell has been turning out bios updates (as well as wireless adapter updates) quite often lately.
As @idgat said,, don't interrupt the update process. Just follow the instructions on the screen and let it do it's thing. You'll be fine.

I'll suggest not using the Windows or Dell update programs for anything Intel related. Go to Intel® Driver & Support Assistant. Intel will detect your hardware (requires a download) and let you know what's available. You can decide if you want to update each driver individually.

I can see that... but sometimes I find the manufacturer hasn't posted updates yet when Intel already has. I don't like to wait.
