It's gotten to the point that no matter how many times a day I use Revo to uninstall the Windows native Outlook (New) APP, it returns within the hour (or on reboot) and lands on my Toolbar replacing the Mail icon.

Mail is still installed at this point, but trying to open it once Outlook (New) rears it's filthy head is futile, with Outlook (New) trying to open instead.

If I uninstall Outlook (New) using Revo, for the hour that Outlook (New) is not present or until next reboot, Mail will work.

I use Office (Outlook) 2021 by choice, but I don't always have the time or patience for opening it.
Mail has always been a go-to in a hurry app to use. It's instant.

I thought we had until December.

Originally I blamed the new Checkpoint cumulative updates for the reinstall, but now I am convinced it's written into a Mail update to call on Outlook (New)

I shall miss Mail. 😭

Thanks, I was given a Powershell script for Outlook New specifically, but it no longer works from what I can tell.

A question about this one though please, Freebooter. If I run this, do you know if it will prevent manual reinstalls of apps that I chose to reinstall?

I never try manually reinstalling apps but this script prevents Windows 10 automatically reinstalling built-in (provisioned) first-party apps like Photos, Groove Music, even if they were removed with PowerShell or uninstalled by right-clicking.

The Powershell command or uninstalling (Not preventing) Outlook new is:
Get-AppxPackage | Where-Object {$_.Name -Like '*OutlookForWindows*'} | Remove-AppxPackage -ErrorAction Continue

My understanding is (Although I don't think it's working)

Block new Outlook preinstall on Windows

Powershell

Powershell:
Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -AllUsers -Online -PackageName (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.OutlookForWindows).PackageFullName

Registry

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\Orchestrator\UScheduler_Oobe\OutlookUpdate

Block new Outlook installation as part of Mail and Calendar deprecation

Powershell
Powershell:
Get-AppxProvisionedPackage -Online | Where {$_.DisplayName -match "microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps"} | Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -Online -PackageName {$_.PackageName}

To remove the Mail and Calendar apps for the current users, you can use the following Remove-AppxPackage command in Windows PowerShell:

Powershell:
Remove-AppxPackage -AllUsers -Package (Get-AppxPackage microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps).PackageFullName

LMAO, now it's returning right before my eyes within 5 minutes of uninstalling

Looks like I'm out of luck.

It's in there

Code:
Reg.exe add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Appx\AppxAllUserStore\Deprovisioned\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_8wekyb3d8bbwe" /f

It's just not working though.

@antspants
Have you tried anything else, like eM Client, Bluemail or Thunderbird?

Yeah I tried many others. Also following your successful findings & trials and tribulations, thank you Edwin.
Many of the ones I tried were subs which I wouldn’t pay when I own Office.
I’m happy with Office 2021 and as son as I can get around to getting a few facts, will probably buy 2024 from Microsoft directly.

It was just a neat little app.

My guess is they’re rolling out the destruction of Mail, so until then I assume they are keeping up appearances with their December notice

It's gotten to the point that no matter how many times a day I use Revo to uninstall the Windows native Outlook (New) APP, it returns within the hour (or on reboot) and lands on my Toolbar replacing the Mail icon.
I'll be a sumb*tch! You're right!
I Revo'd it, it came back, I did that 3 times, all in the span of ten minutes!!! :nope:

What a pain in the a**! I say Revo all of them!!!

Interesting, I removed Outlook (new) just by uninstalling it from Windows and it has never returned. I also don't have Windows Mail and just use Office 365.

Unbelievable!
I installed Mail/Calendar, signed in, closed it, re-opened it, it flashes for a split second then New Outlook opens!
I left the New Outlook...
0007755 - Copy.jpg
Revo'd it, opened Mail, then Outlook re-installs itself and opens again..., over and over and over...

It comes desperately close to the way malware behaves!!!
Fecking childish tactics on MS's part, if you ask me!!! :nope:

To hell with MS Apps! I'll use real programs developed by human grownups!

what happens if you disable auto updates of store apps, revo the new outlook, and install a slightly older build of the mail app from:
Microsoft Store - Generation Project (v1.2.3) [by @rgadguard & mkuba50] ?

It would seem random people are experiencing the persistent removal of Mail and having Outlook (New) take over, as is evident in that Reddit post (most likely other threads about it somewhere)

I suppose they’re getting ahead of themselves.

Apart from the fact I don’t like Outlook (New) there is one main difference in the two apps, Mail & Outlook (New) that has always surprised me:
In Outlook (New) when I tried it, I always get the customary random spam or advertising emails from Microsoft.
In mail, I have never once received any. This always surprised me and I have often wondered why Microsoft never changed the coding or whatever it is that prevented Mail from downloading those pesky, promotions.

Whats surprising is that I haven’t come across any news from @Brink about the change already starting, just over 2 months of the reported date of December as reported by Microsoft..
