It's Official. Windows 11 is Vista 2.0

Bought a new computer and decided to install 11 on it and it was one headache after another. Ran it for 6 days and ran into these issues:

-USB randomly dies out(requires restart)
-Bluetooth randomly dies out(requires restart-sometimes I have to remove and reinstall all Bluetooth devices to make it temporarily work) Even bought another BT adapter.
-CPU usage for "system" randomly sticks at 25% and to computer runs like a car with the E-brake partially engaged(requires restart)
-Programs randomly crash.(Requires restart)
-Turning off the Windows Defender Live Scan doesn't actually do anything.(Windows still detains my crack files for questioning)


I don't think I've restarted my computer this many times since the Windows 9x days.

Everything was solved by installing the latest Ghost Specture Windows 10 Lite (Windows 10 still sucks without a condom, but I'm guessing even the fool version of Windows of 10 would be more stable than this nonsense)

For a more stable and pleasant PC experience stick with Windows 10. That's what Microsoft should have done.

Why haven't you returned it.

I kind of liked vista lol but liked 7 more.

Vista just worked for me.,. well after the driver issue was cleared up.

I actually liked Vista. Got a Dell Core duo with Vista already loaded. Vista was good. on that machine, it was upgraded to windows 7, which was an improvement. Tried 8, but didn't like it and went back to 7. Then upgraded to Windows 10. That machine died after 10 years. MS's worst OS was Windows Me. I may just wait until I get a new system with Windows 11 already loaded.

I bought a new Dell Tower in 2007 with Vista on it.
It worked without any problems until I replaced it a few years later.

I upgraded my two recently purchased computers you see below to Windows 11. I've now been running Windows 11 for a week and I have yet to encounter a single problem.

Can you click on your "My Computers" and update with what you purchased?

I have ran them all from the old 3.1, never had any real bad problems with any, guess i was lucky ! Oh and by the way Brink had a tutorial on how to return to W 10 !!

I purchased my Surface Pro 3 in June of 2014 at the Microsoft Store in Atlanta and it had Windows 8 on it. I quickly adjusted to the new UI even though I didn't particularly like it. It ran all my apps just fine. I updated it to 8.1 and that was, of course, a good bit better. I then updated it to Windows 10 when it was released.

In February I replaced my old Surface Pro 3 after 7 years of service with the Surface Pro 7 you see below.

Both of my current computers were updated to Windows 11 on Oct 5 and so far the updates have been flawless with no problems whatsoever.

I think this is the most ridiculous argument I have ever heard about why Windows 11 sucks:

Windows Defender in Windows 11 does not allow me to use my illegal, pirated software. Why does Microsoft not allow me to use pirated software? Windows 11 is bad!

Sometimes upgrades do not work well, and you need to do a clean install. Also, you might need to upgrade your bios as well.

Most people don't have the problems you mentioned.. so no.. it's not "official". FWIW vista's problems were largely tied to OEM's selling low-spec PC's.

Win 95 = bad
Win 95 OSR2 = good
Win 98 = bad
Win 98 SE = good
Win ME = bad
Win XP = good
Win Vista = bad
Win 7 = good
Win 8/8.1 = bad
Win 10 = good
Win 11 = ???

my wife's laptop has been running 8.1 for years and it's literally been one of the most stable computers I have ever worked with.

It just might be the laptop and not the OS that's responsible. :)

As for 8 and 8.1, I'm not intimating that the OSes are bad, just that they are... ridiculous.
Ya know, sort of like the Start button or context menus on Windows 11.


Just because something doesn't blue screen, doesn't necessarily mean it's... good.


ME was a disaster from start to finish. Vista was slower than dirt.
8 and 8.1 were OK I guess if you were on a smart phone or touch tablet.

I mean there's nothing dumber than Doritos and a touch screen in the same room. ^^
And we all know that Doritos are required by law. :)


Think back to Star Trek: TNG. They had touch screens.
But the part you touched and the part you viewed were different screens.




I mean, I have no problems with Microsoft and their "touchy feely" inclinations.
But they need to bring suitable hardware to the game as well... if they want to go that way.


Maybe something like this...






You could even fabricate laptops in a similar layout.
Laptops have a base and a lid. There's tons of wasted real estate on the base.




In the computer industry, both the software and the hardware people have great ideas.
They just need to get on the same page, with their ideas.

LOL. Wouldn't even need right and left handed models.
Just a toggle in the software to flip the screen(s), top to bottom.

Never had any issues with Vista way back when and not currently having any with Windows 11 on two computers.

He didn't specify what programs those files were a part of. A lot of legitimate programs (with their copy protection legally removed) may use executables that get detected by AV software, as they've been "cracked". You may then have better chances of getting the false detection lifted if you're using a 3rd party AV vendor and submitting the file to them, in case the file is truly harmless. Better chances compared to MS, that is.

You Vista lovers may not have had problems with it, but man, it was as slow as a slug.
Too resource intensive for computers of its time.
