Solved JPG files will only open in a browser

The title says it and My default setting for JPG files is Photos but I can only open a JPG file in a browser.
Help please.

Right click on the .jpg and select 'open with'.
Or
Settings/Apps/Default Apps/Scroll down page/select Choose Default by file type/.jpg

It looks like the file association is corrupted. Right-click on a .jpg or .jpeg file and select Open With and Choose another application. Select the desired application and click on Always.

I have done both of your suggestions. What I get is shown in the attachment file above. I am rather baffled what else to do.

Hey Rfhar,
You are getting a file not found. It means the file is no longer there.
This has therefore nothing to do with file association.
Delete the shortcut or re-initialize it with the correct path and/or right Click/Refresh the desktop.

Thanks, Iwent to the folder with the pictures a clicked on the file there and got the same answer.

Can you right click on that file and take a screenshot of properties?
Also attempt to change the association.

Those 2 files are in very different folders.

What happens when you click Change as posted where the yellow arrow is on my previous post?

The first one is on my desktop as I used the File Explorer Gallery to find the picture as I wanted a good picture of my wife's sister and husband both died years ago. After I found it, I have gone directly to where the picture is located.

After I click change, I get the same error message as shown in the beginning of this help request. That is I must open it with a browser.

I am so sorry; it is difficult to help without being able to see the problem first hand.

When did the problem start? What was done to the system in between? Have you rebooted recently?

Sounds like maybe your user profile is corrupted. Create another user or enable the hidden admin account to test with. If it works correctly there, it points directly to your user account being the issue, not Windows.
