Windows 11 dev channel
Just upgraded from Win 10 pro to Win 11 Pro with Dev Channel. Working fine without TPM 2.0 as I only have TPM 1.2. Can't find a TPM 2 module for my ASUS motherboard. Win 11 seems to be faster booting, faster loading pages using MS Edge Chromium and overall a boost in my system performance. No stability problem but worry that after it is fully released might have problem as my Motherboard is older and I can't get a TPM 2.0 module at this time. 1.2 is activated but I don't use bitlocker either.

The current Dev and newer Beta versions of Windows 11 do not have any restrictions applied, but it is planned to require TPM 2.0 (active) and Secure Boot (available) when it is officially released. There is AFAIK no requirement for Bitlocker. there will also Be a requirement for gen 8 Intel processors or their AMD alternatives

What version of Asus motherboard do you have? Knowing that will help us help you out.

Assuming that Microsoft stays with their announced CPU support list (AMD CPUs), don't bother looking for a TPM 2.0 module. It appears that no FM2 motherboards are supported.

Yup.. neither the motherboard or the processor are going to make the cut.

So you're saying that even though I have an Asus Motherboard with a TPM 2.0 Chip, I will won't be able to run Windows 11 just because I have a Ryzen 7 1800X CPU?

In his case he can't because his motherboard doesn't support TPM 2..
List of supported mother boards. His is a ASUS F2A85-m and his AMD A10 is not approved for Win 11 either.

As for your case the processor you list isn't on the approved list:

1628886863964.png

In order for me to make my PC complaint for 11 I had to go from the Ryzen 3 2200G to the Ryzen 3 3200G.

Hope that clears things up.

The 1700X isn't on the supported list. AMD CPUs

However, your Asus Crosshair VI Hero could upgrade to a Ryzen of the 3000 series, which is supported. Whether the expense would be worthwhile to you, I can't guess. (At Newegg, a Ryzen 7 3700X costs over $300US.)

That's not a bad price!

My current is the Ryzen 7 1800X. I don't see a difference. You would think Microsoft would add the 1800X to it. This CPU is not old. It only came out several years ago. It's not like it's a Sempron. . lol

The main difference is that the newer one has security features built into it.
