For months now, maybe longer, Kaspersky tells me I have the follow incompatible software in the pc. Remove/Keep. I hit remove and restart pc and its gone, for a shot while then KTS kicks off again with the same.

I have done every check known to mankind to find it to no avail. Not in registry, not in folders, not on pc, apparently. I have done every thing but pray ⚡⚡

At some point Avira was installed on the PC so I would check for these entries which may have been left behind after removal:
C:\Program Files\Avira
C:\ProgramData\Avira
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Avira

Programdata & application data will be hidden folders.
This removal is recommended to be completed within safe mode.

Also check Task manager>startup for Avira launcher & if it’s there disable it.

I just put my pc on and there waiting for me is the Kaspersky Incompat notice again for the same thing. So I told it to remove it, and rebooted. No longer optimistic. I'll have another look at Bastets post.

I put option 3 in, in full, - cant find. Took out the avira ref and ran it again, You do not have permission. Yes I am admin. Is it possible its reading a 'backup' file etc or something on on another drive

I am also going to run a massive full scan, will take a few hours.

You could open regedit and search for avira entries and delete them. Keep hitting the F3 key.

I tried regedit, to my surprise 'find' identified over 20 entries involving the word 'avira' but not only that I was shocked to see, within registry/windows, loads of connections to porn sites, gay sites, video porn. Needless to say I spent a good half hour removing them. How the hell did Windows get full of that rubbish???? Is it a bill gates fetish?

How about getting rid of Kaspersky? Their headquarters is in Moscow, and they have connections with the Russian Military. The US Government has banned the use of Kaspersky software citing ties to the Russian government and espionage attempts.

I did think of this and sent them an email. I said that in view of the invasion of Ukraine where did they stand. They replied that they were a 100% total civil company and had nothing to do with the Russian Government. There are so many fake news going around, I went straight to them for a definitive answer. That's their reply.

I did think of this and sent them an email. I said that in view of the invasion of Ukraine where did they stand. They replied that they were a 100% total civil company and had nothing to do with the Russian Government. There are so many fake news going around, I went straight to them for a definitive answer. That's their reply.
:ROFLMAO:👆
And you expected them to say anything else?

haha, no not really. OK, lets take it a stage further. Assuming I put Kaspersky in a digital black hole - who recommends a replacement?????

and dont say cia.viral.co.uk

edit: I am about to hit the button for bitdefender, £19.99 for 12 months, gives me time to consider others and I can pass code to my daughter too.

I also use Microsoft Security (Microsoft Defender). If you look at "My Computer" info, there are a lot of other forum members that do the same.
