Just updated on both machines; on both machines afterward Disk Cleanup would not open until I clicked again to open it (plus needing to type in admin. password). I've had this happen before after an update so perhaps Win 11 was still carrying out a process but it wasn't as though Windows had "just" reached the desktop.

This out of band update, re-enabled the Task... Microsoft\Windows\Management\Provisioning\Logon, after I had disabled it.
Well, I re-disabled it and it's stayed disabled through 2 reboots, and an sfc /scannow.

Now I'm gonna go back on Win 10 (where I also disabled that, and have "not" done any updates), and see if it's still disabled.

/edit
Still disabled on Windows 10.

Curiouser and curiouser...

This out of band update, re-enabled the Task... Microsoft\Windows\Management\Provisioning\Logon, after I had disabled it.
Just checked on both of mine, and the disabled Logon task has NOT been re-enabled on either.
Still none of the empty folders you-know-where, either.

Yeah, I don't understand it. Just switched back to Win 11, now...and it's still disabled.
Maybe it was something else. Can't think of what it might be. I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on it. :)

Windows 11 Pro v 22H2 (Build 22621.382)
Will it be included in the next cumulative update?
I would expect so; this next CU is due November 9 - 'Patch Tuesday'.

However, you will need to check the CU release notes here & here.

Yes, at least it fixed the snipping tool issue. working fine for last 1 hour. Windows is turning into an open-source DD-WRT project.

Windows 11 64-bit
This update arrived on my Win-11 laptop on Thurs Nov 4th. Didn't fix the problem I have. The entire "Settings" box force-closes when I click on "Optional Updates" within Windows update. Maybe Windows Insiders (Beta) aren't supposed to receive Optional Updates?

My wife's Win-11 laptop is not a member of Windows Insiders. Yesterday she had 3 Optional Updates available. I clicked on that box and installed them with no problem.

Anyway, I submitted feedback to Microsoft. If the behavior doesn't change in a couple of months, I'll return to the regular Windows Release channel that most people are on.

Hi folks
With this last update my issues on W11 have all (so far) been fixed so I'm finding I'm using W10 less and less these days.

For Office I'm also using Office 2021 LTSC VL (got from one of my work clients) so I'm happy so far even though the laptop doesn't meet requirements for Win 11 (CPU).

However the laptop is working fine and one of the advantages of running both W10 and W11 options using VHDX Virtual disks is that both installs are around 60 GB each only (I always separate OS from data etc) and it is utterly no hardship to keep both systems up to date - so if in the future W11 stops working I've got a decent W10 working system as well and a good copy of W11 which can be installed on a new computer if and when I choose to get one.

I used to think the whole idea of dual booting was bonkers -- I still think so if done the "Classic way" using different entire HDD's or partitions - but using "Physical" Virtual hard disks changes the whole equation -- really simple to implement, test real hardware on etc.

Virtual Machines are fine if you need concurrent operation of HOST and VM or if you are running concurrently total different OS's , or even to initial test a brand new release before trying it on real hardware - so there's room for both approaches. The VHDX method is also good in that backup is simple - just backup the vhdx file !!!!! and of course systems can be moved to different hardware without issue either -- usually quicker and easier than taking a Macrium image and then restoring - with the vhdx system simply copy rhe file and boot from it. !!

Cheers
jimbo
