If I am playing a game (as far as I know, any game), and I tab out to Windows to do something else, when I return to the game there is a good chance that it will then suffer from severe lag. This is when I move the mouse (view) around that it stutters and lags. The only remedy I have found is to restart the game.
It will even do it when the content of the screen is frozen (I am in a menu) and just moving the mouse pointer around. The problem manifests as a sharp drop in fps.
This is not a recent problem. It has been doing it for at least a year, probably longer.
Does anyone have a clue what this might be or how to fix it?
I have taken a snapshot of the difference between normal running, solid at the start, then the mess it turns in to if I tab out and tab back in.
