So my views are no more authoritative than those of whoever stood next to you in the pub last Friday night.
The replacement battery I got a couple of weeks ago was my second replacement of that type [I have two identical Dell Inspiron 7779 laptops].
- The first replacement took me the best part of a year to select. I wanted a Dell-branded one that was fulfilled by Amazon & that had a good number of good reviews and it took ages for one to appear. I took particular care in my product selection - this was the first computer I had had with a battery fitted inside and that made me very/overly cautious. By the time I bought it, my original battery had degraded through normal use to about 60% which made it last for only an hour and a half or something like that.
- The second replacement took me less than half an hour to select because I just thought, Oh sod it. And the new battery is perfectly fine. It lasts for almost four hours.
